Abstract

Incidence of diabetes mellitus is increasing worldwide, so can be regarded as a plague epidemic. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that can only be controlled with exercise and diet regulation. Long-term diet of eating plan is one aspect causing the most challenges in the management of diabetes.

This study aims to determine the effect of setting a diet with decreased blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus in the District General Hospital Sinjai. The method used in this study were pre-experimental design with the approach of one group pretest-posttest design Sampling was done with consecutive sampling techniques and found 10 respondents. Data were analyzed using Paired T Test.

Results showed that there are differences in blood glucose pretest with posttest 2 and 3, which means that the setting of diabetes mellitus diet effective in lowering blood glucose levels in diabetes mellitus. Subsequent research should examine the back with a larger sample and using control groups to obtain more accurate results.
